I cannot delete a the previous year's 1099-misc info - what do I do?

I keep being referred back to the 1099-misc page to fill in info - but i did NOT work for that company in 2016

To remove Form 1099-MISC:

• On the Tax Timeline, select "Federal Taxes"
• Select "Wages and Income" on the second menu bar. 
• Click the "Check for more income" button, then select "Skip to see all income".
• Scroll down to the "Other Common Income" income section and select "Show More" to expand the list.
• Click the button next to "Form 1099-MISC".
• On the next screen, you should have the option to click "Delete" next to the 1099-MISC.
