You must have a close relative living with you more than half the year who you claim as a dependent to qualify you to file as head of household. A fiance does not qualify as a close relative.

You must have a close relative living with you more than half the year who you claim as a dependent to qualify you to file as head of household. A fiance does not qualify as a close relative.

I qualified for a refund from federal & had to pay State. the official federal refund minus the amount I owe on State. Is it safe to assume I dont have to send a check?
