I am on SS disability. According to Turbo Tax I owe nothing and I don't get a refund. Why do they want to charge me $69 to file?

No, it sounds like you may not even need to file a tax return. But, if you want to file, and you think you should qualify for the free return offer, try returning to the Free Edition and completing your return.

Here's how to do that:

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
  2. In the left-side menu, select Tax Tools, then Switch to Free Edition.
  3. You'll be asked if you are sure, select Switch to Free Edition, and Continue with your tax return.
  4. If at some point, you enter something that disqualifies you from the Free Edition, you will get an on-screen message explaining that.
