How to unregister free tax version?

I only want to file federal, but I accidently registered federal and state. Now I can't delete my state return. Does anybody know how to proceed?

When you get to the end you will have the option to file only the federal and not the state return.  Go ahead and tell it to hold the state return and don't pay for it.  Then you can just never file it and you're good.
