How to fix the following Reject Code IND-046-01

The problem:

The primary taxpayer's AGI or Self-select PIN from last year does not match IRS records.

Our solution:

The IRS rejected your federal return because the IRS was unable to confirm your identity based on your AGI from last year. This number has to match what the IRS has in their database exactly, so returns get rejected for this reason from time to time.

To e-file again, you need to enter a different number to get it to match the IRS database. If you didn't file last year or you filed late (after the October deadline), try entering 0 for your AGI.

If the IRS continues to reject you, we recommend that you print and mail your taxes in. If you used TurboTax Online, just sign back in then follow the step-by-step instructions on how to change your AGI. Select the Continue button until you reach a screen titled "Review Your Federal Filing Choices". From there, select the Edit button for "You have provided your identifying information for e-filing". Once you've changed your AGI, continue on to re-file your return and you'll be all set.

Yes, you are absolutely right. My personal details and experience with your accurate" fix"are below. I now know my accurate AGI from last year ( This program did not transfer it accurately ?) Should I enter the accurate AGI from 2017 OR a -0-  ?   THANK YOU SO MUCH because I do not think this is easy for a representative to figure out

I am SO grateful I found your solution. 5 rejects in 4 hours and 2 "sessions" with "specialists" and rejects keep coming. I looked at my AGI from last year (by way of printing 2017 tax return from THIS program) and it is $3 off from what your program automatically transferred?  So, YES...it is wrong--AND will continue rejecting, right? I told the rep on last "session" about this post and got, "hmmmm........" I believe you NAILED THIS! You HAD too, I hope a "specialist" can help me change last years AGI if I can not myself?  Should I put -0- , as suggested OR the accurate previous year's amount? For the record, I DID need to add an 8862  on the 2nd reject (why? idk? because the IRS told me I only had to do it ONCE, 6 years ago....not true here, it has happened multiple years here. I BELIEVE THIS CODE (ind-046-01) is just as well an AGI error as well having to provide an 8862. THANK YOU....WE SHALL SEE WHEN IT IS REJECTED AGAIN. I think the 7 rejection "time out" should NOT have to make a filer mail their returns and wait when a "specialist" can not figure it out after the 5th reject.
