how to enter a non-passive loss on Schedule E

In past years used forms mode K1 Scorp worksheet to enter a non-passive loss and Schedule E was populated. No longer seems to work.

You should be able to enter non-passive loss carryovers on K-1 Partner under Section A column (b). Boxes highlighted in yellow will accept manual entries. Be sure the line above column (c) shows "nonpassive."

If you need to change a number in a black font (Section C, for example), right-click and choose "Data Source." This option allows you to track the number back to where it was originally entered, or the source of the underlying calculations.
