How to classify 1099-MISC as earned income?

I attached the filer's name to it, but it still doesn't show up as earned income? It is also part of the business.

How to classify 1099-MISC as earned income?

The 1099-MISC should translate as self-employment/business in TurboTax if the 1099 has entries on Box 7- non-employee compensation.

There will be a series of questions asked at the time of the 1099-MISC entry that helps Turbo Tax decide to treat the income as self employment. The 1099 income will automatically be added to the Schedule C as income.
