How to change from e-file to mail in?

I can't open my document to change to mail in. Are there other documents I need to include with the mail in?

How to change from e-file to mail in?

Yes, you can switch to print and mail if your return has been rejected and you are unable to fix it. Don't mail your return if it has already been accepted for e-file.

Here's how to do that:

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
  2. Select Fix my return, or Add State.
  3. Select Review from the left-side menu  (expand your browser window if you don't see this, or select the menu icon in the top left corner).
  4. Address any details that come up.
  5. Select File.
  6. On the Just one more step screen, follow steps 1 and 2 if you haven't already.
  7. Select the Start to the right of Step 3.
  8. On the Let's get ready to e-file screen, select I want to print and mail.
  9. Follow the instructions to print your return.

For your federal Form 1040, you need to attach a copy of each of your W-2 forms and any 1099s that show tax withheld in box 4.

State requirements vary, so check for the state filing cover sheet, which will be after your federal return, but before your state return.
