Hello everyone, one of the questions that I'm having trouble answering is how much property tax that I paid in 2021. I am a co-owner of a house where me and the other co-owner each pay 50% of the tax, and we both file our taxes separately. So if the total property tax amounts to $5,000, how should we answer the question? Do we each enter $2,500, or do we put down $5,000?

No, you include only the amount you actually paid. You each get to take half of the full amount. You must be both on the deed and pay the tax in order to be able to take the deduction.
