How do I interpret the IRS withholdings calculator to update my w4? When it gives me a number to put in line 3, do I add that to child credits?

I want to decrease my withholdings in order to increase my paychecks and reduce my return. The IRS calculator gave me a number to put on line 3, but it's lower than the child credit amount I would have put there anyway. Do I add the amount from the calculator to the child credit?
