If your return was rejected, then it's the same as if it was never filed. You will need to file your return and you will have to follow the steps below to print and mail your 2017 return (you will need to print it as you cannot e-file a prior year return). The good news is that you should be able to log into your account and download the tax file so that you don't have to redo the whole return. Depending on why your return was rejected, you may still need to fix whatever caused the rejection - though since you are going to have to file by mail, some rejections don't apply to this filing method.
