How do I file on turbotax for my son who died during 2023? Do I open an account in his name or the name of the estate?

I am the personal representative appointed by the court to handle my son's estate and I need to file his final taxes for 2023.  Should I be using his social security number or the EIN that we were given by the IRS for his estate?

You can file a final tax return for your son for 2023 using his SSN. 

Only income received from the beginning of the year until the date of death is reported on the final return. 

The Estate Return, Form 1041, receives and reports any income over $600 after that, or the beneficiaries receiving the income report it on their returns.
