how do i change my filing status to head of household?

To change your filing status :

Open your return and select Personal Info
Continue and scroll down to Your Filing Status
Select Edit. On the following screen check the box to change your status.

To file as head of household, you must:

Pay for more than half of the household expenses
Be considered unmarried for the tax year, and
You must have a qualifying child or dependent.
