Filing a 1099-R form in Colorado

I am working with a tax prep to file my 2023 taxes in Colorado and am including a 1099-R form. The tax prep asked me to provide the SSN of my grandmother in order to file this form. Can they not just use the payer TIN included on my 1099-R? I have never heard of anyone giving the SSN of their family member in order to submit this form for Colorado taxes.

Filing a 1099-R form in Colorado

I can only assume your grandmother provided the 1099-R form but it should be complete with her EIN/TIN. You would not be expected to know her SSN. Unless you are giving her a 1099-R, then you would need her SSN, for the federal and state filing.  If there is more to this story, please reply.
