I just read the helpful TurboTax guidance article : "Death in the Family".

I found several useful pieces of info there, in one reference spot.

Thank you.

However, even though the article indicates the info had been updated for 2020 returns, I find that the information provided in the section about Inherited IRAs and retirement accounts to be woefully inaccurate and out of date.

There has been several tax law regulation changes regarding inheriting IRAs since the 2007 regulation referred to in the article. In particular, the regs of 2017 and 2019. These significantly impact non-spouse inheritors.
