Estimated taxes

I accidentally put in for estimated taxes for next year. I already paid my taxes for 2023 and I got a letter from the IRS wanting me to pay estimated taxes but I will not owe any taxes next year. I spoke to someone from the IRS and they told me to just disregard it. But I don't know is there a way to cancel the estimated taxes?

Estimated taxes

Q. Is there a way to cancel the estimated taxes?

A. Yes.

Actually, there is nothing to cancel. The IRS advice,  to just disregard it, also applies to what you did in TurboTax. When you say you "accidentally put in for estimated taxes for next year"; all you really did was prepare the vouchers for filing.  Until you actually print and mail those vouchers you have not actually filed estimated taxes.

Having the vouchers does not mean that you are required to make estimated tax payments. The vouchers are available if you want to use them, but you don't have to use the vouchers. You can just ignore them.
