I was working on my grandson's taxes and the software calculated he would get the $800.00 refund for sales tax for all Colorado residents over the age of 18. He is only 17. Had I not looked up the qualification requirements I would not have known this and would have expected he would receive the refund. This also happened last year but I did not report it to you. I only found out because I filed the Colorado return directly on their site since it is free, and the refund/rebate was not calculated.
I feel an update should be made to the software to avoid further confusion
Thank you

The Colorado instructions also say, "If you are a full-year Colorado resident who was under 18 as of January 1, 2023, you may claim the state sales tax refund only if you have a Colorado tax liability (line 14 must be greater than 0) or you are claiming a refund of Colorado wage withholding on a W-2." See instructions for line 34, on page 9.
Is it possible that one of these applied to your grandson?
