efiled, but TT says I have to also print 8949?

After I efiled my federal return.  TT popped up a message saying I have to print/mail a "US Individual Income Tax Transmittal for and IRS e-file Return" (form 8453))   That form in turn says I need to print and mail form 8949.

Not sure why I need to mail that form specifically?  Not sure if the message from TT is accurate and wonder if it will this just create confusion?  Has any one encountered this before?

Did you enter a summary instead of each security sale individually?

Per the IRS:

"If you e-file your return but choose not to report each transaction on a separate row on the electronic return, you must either (a) include Form 8949 as a PDF attachment to your return, or (b) attach Form 8949 to Form 8453 (or the appropriate form in the Form 8453 series) and mail the forms to the IRS."

What's missing here is that the subsequent Form 8949 would show

each transaction on a separate row

Do not mail the Form 8949 that you e-Filed.

That would be silly and is not called for.

Thank you all for your input.  I think there was a 1099B with so many transactions that TT balked at it, and I just put in a summary, so I guess I'll attach that full list in what I send in.
