Does anyone know how to change from someone can claim me as a dependent to where they cannot? or if they don't claim me does it matter?

To change this, click on My Info (left-hand menu bar) in TurboTax Online. Click the Edit button next to your name to change this information.

If you are a qualifying child or qualifying relative to someone, they can claim you.

If someone can claim you, you must so indicate on your return.

It doesn't matter if they claim you or not.

They may file an amended return to claim you.

It doesn't matter if they file or not.

They may file in the future.
