Do I still need to file quartely estimated tax for Federal and State (Illinios) 2017 if I am unemployed

My 2016 tax return states I owe quarterly  estimates for 2017 both Federal and State (Illinois) . Apparently there were no with holdings on my 2016 Gross income for Federal and State,  so I owe federal and state tax for 2016.  I am now unemployed. The job I had that did not withhold the tax was terminated in fall 2016 .  Do i have to still file for the estimated quarterly taxes for 2017 for Federal and State (Illinois)?  I am not working and have no income.  The reason is cannot afford to make the quarterly estimate payments at this time.

No, you are not required to pay estimated taxes. Since the change in your tax situation is not expected to repeat itself during the current year, the estimated tax payments may not apply (they are not a requirement, just a suggestion based upon last year's taxes.
