the two criteria I'm referencing are 1) net worth over 1mm (excluding primary residence) and 2) individual income over 200k or joint income over 300k for two previous years

You only have to meet one. The Requirements according to the SEC website an Accredited Investor has:
Net worth over $1 million, excluding primary residence (individually or with spouse or partner)
Income over $200,000 (individually) or $300,000 (with spouse or partner) in each of the prior two years, and reasonably expects the same for the current year
