Do I need to upgrade to deluxe if I have alimony and child support?

Yes, if you are working online and you paid or received alimony, you need to upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe Online to report it.

According to IRS rules, child support doesn't count as taxable income, nor can you deduct child support you paid from your income. A few states have rules that differ from the IRS. If your state is one of them, TurboTax will cover that when you prepare your state tax return.

Please see the FAQs below for instructions on how to enter alimony in TurboTax.
