Do I have to report earnings on the 1009B that was sent in my dad's name for accounts that they're reporting as cashed in?

My dad passed in October. I'm doing his final return. We rec'd 2 1099-b for the accounts that have been 'rolled over' to the beneficiaries - not sold, not cashed out. Do I still have to report them on my dad's return as 'sold'? He didn't receive the money (he's dead, for goodness' sake.)

No, any sales would get reported on the beneficiary's returns. The beneficiaries get an immediate step-up in basis and it sounds like they were just transferred into beneficiary brokerage accounts. There should be no reporting.

Sorry for the loss of your father.
