Do i combine both spouses' deductions on ajoint return or do i do it sepa?rately

Report both income and expenses/deductions on the same return.

If you are filing married filing jointly, all of the deductions will be added together.  
If there is a separate form, such as a Form W-2 or Form 1099-R for each of you, you will enter them as they are on the forms and TurboTax will add them together.
If you are entering deductions such as mortgage interest or medical expenses, you will add the the amounts for each of you together, as you enter them.
