Ik ppl who filed before me & after who have gotten there refunds before the 22nd which is the day that irs gave to everyone

i called and was told i’d be getting a letter and that everything seemed fine, however they are sending letters to everyone who are simply under review. i don’t understand that? i asked if there were any red flags or errors and she explained she didn’t see any? but i am still getting a letter regardless.. has this happened to anyone? can i still be approved at anytime even after getting this letter if there are no mistakes ?? thank you , all.

They tell you something different every time you call . I was told that thy don't know & can't tell me anything until after 45 days

i am up for review as well. I was told by IRS rep 45 days from the 15th and that I should have them by April 1st. No letter for me and it is very frustrating. I am hoping my refund comes sooner but i jist check every morning because that's all I can do at this point......

Yes. At this point all we can do is wait , so me as well just checking it every morning to see if anything changes .. I still think this is Bullshit I've NEVER waited this long on a tax return

Same here. Pretty much nothing was different on my return this year from last year but apparently I've been flagged for "random review". I was told that it could be 45 days from Feb 15 (I filed on Jan 29) which will be April 1st before I will see a dime. The guy told me that I am scheduled to get a letter mailed out, but it hasn't been sent. He couldn't tell me what the letter was or when it would be sent. He used the word random multiple times. I know people who claimed Child Tax Credit who have already gotten their return and some who are scheduled to get theirs this week so that argument is invalid. They need to pay us "randomers" some interest on OUR money.

See when I call all the tell me is that my refund is Under review & that it could take up to 45 days THATS IT. I asked did they need any info from me they said No . Thats all I'm getting from them No better info at all. Im done calling, I'm just waiting Patiently !

Did everyone on here that is under review use Turbo tax to file? Mine was accepted on the 28th and held for review on the 15th. Nothing changed on my taxes this year other than claiming a child, which i was told by the IRS that that shouldn't have been a reason for review. I wasn't given a reason as to why they decided "randomly pulling my refund for review". All i was told was it could take up to 45 days, or they could release them around March 5th. The lady i spoke with said " it could honestly be released any time between your 45 days if they find nothing". When i asked what i needed to do i was told nothing. I'm confused after reading all the comments as to why so many people using turbo tax were reviewed and exactly what is the IRS looking for?

Filed and accepted on 2/2/18. Called 2/22 and was told I was under review wait 45 days etc. Called 2/26 looking for my letter info and was told I was never under review my refund is processed and just waiting to be released but no release date. My wmr still states being processed.
I don't know....

@elcoffey  same exact thing I was told...so idk what they are doing...I was also told that it's because of the EIC buy my cousin claimed the EIC and got hers back which they weren't held.

@kdriggins85 exactly. i know people who filed later than me, claiming the same as i did, and got theirs back last week. its ridiculous.

Yeah a lot of people got their refunds back already I just think we are the ones they randomly selected to review to be truthful I never had a problem before this new stuff they pulling

yes @elcoffey I used turbo tax this year as well I think everybody who used turbo tax damn near got flagged I have a best friend whonis also under review

I filed with Turbo Tax on Jan 29th. I have used Turbo Tax for years, this is the first time I have had any issues at all. However, those that I know who have already gotten their return, filed elsewhere.
