Details on Auto Mileage Log

Can someone tell me what information is required for auto mileage log. I purchase some auto mileage log book from office store. Some of them ask you to fill " starting location", some of them just ask you to fill in " destination" and " business purpose". Do I have to input starting location? Also, for location, how specific do I need to write? For instances, Do I just write " Staples" or "Staples, astoria, ny" or just write" Astoria,NY" ?Thank you.

Your Auto Mileage Log should include the following:

• Date of trip

• Destination

• Business Purpose of trip

• Miles driven for the trip

• Odometer readings (before and after the trip)

You need to include enough detail so that you can reasonably prove the mileage.  In your example above, I would definitely include Staples, Astoria NY.  In addition, if there is more than one Staples in Astoria, NY, I would include the street as well.
