My fist husband passed away. I have since remarried and then divorced. I file head of household and claim my 2 kids.  In May of 2021, I was given my niece and nephew by child services. They are my first husbands brothers kids. Since I was married to their uncle are they my niece and nephew too? I had them the remainder of the year (7.5 months). There was no formal court order or foster agreement. I paid for them. I read somewhere that relationships made in marriage are not ended by death or divorce. They are not my blood relative. Can I claim them as dependent children?

You are correct and if otherwise qualified you can claim them.
