I am the Executor of my Father's very small Estate.  He was paying the IRS $300 per mo.  How do I determine what this is about and if he owes past year taxes?

In most cases, you will need a death certificate and a court appointment and/or a filed Form 56.

You can call the general IRS phone number, 800-829-1040, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, and get further information on what appears to be an installment agreement entered into by your father and how to proceed as executor of his estate.
