created a tax return with 2020, saved it, but now cannot reopen it.

I got a disk, installed it with my license code, and created a tax return.

I saved it for later. I tried to reopen it, but it says it is corrupted, try again. I tried again, but it is still corrupted. It told me to start over.

I repeated the whole process on a new return, but same result, so what am I to do?

You may be having a problem with your computer or the disk drive you are saving to. You can try using the "Save As" option on your "File" tab and save the return to a different name to another location, or on a thumb drive or other external disk drive.

If you have another computer available you can try downloading your TurboTax program on to that computer also.
