Control Number in box d is "Piedmont T"

Good question. This is a Control Number Box that usually has a number in the field or is blank. So having a name in it can be confusing. The good news is you don't have to enter anything into this box on the W-2 entry in TurboTax. If it causes issues leaving that field blank when you e-file you can just enter any number in this format: 5 digits, space, 5 digits (for example, 12345 67890). The IRS doesn't care what's in Box D because its use by payroll departments is optional.
