Claiming child who lives with both parents

So I'm confused by the question about if my child lives with me full time or if my child resides equally with both parents.  My husband is my child's father, and we share a home, so he lives with both of us full time.  However, we have to file separately.  Am I letting my child's other parent claim him for 2016 since we file jointly?

If you are filing married filing jointly, you are both claiming the child, if you are filing separately, generally you can choose who claims the child, if you can't choose and you use the tie breaker rules, the parent with the highest AGI claims the child, click here for more information.
