Cannot transfer 2022 online tax return information to 2023 desktop

I am doing my mom's return for her and she used online last year (2022) and we downloaded the basic download version this year (2023) but it will not upload her tax return information from 2022.  Seems most of the posts here concern going from desktop to online.  I am going the opposite direction (HATE the online UI).  Any suggestions?

Yes, you can transfer her 2022 TurboTax Online return into TurbotTax Desktop.

Here's how to do that:

1. Sign in to the TurboTax account she used for 2022.
2. Scroll down to Your tax returns at the bottom of the Tax Home page. 
3. Select 2022, then select Download .tax file on the right.
4. Open your 2023 TurboTax software. 
5. Select Start New Return. 
6. The program will search for any 2022 .tax files. If it doesn't find the file automatically, select Find a tax file and use the file explorer window to find the file. 
7. Once you have locate the file, select it and the transfer to 2023 process will begin.
