Can my son claim us as dependent?

My husband made 16,900 from retirement income of Social Security, I made 4,000 working of my own account and we are 66 and 61 respectively. My question is if my son can claim us as dependents and if there is an amount of minimum contributions to our expenses that are necessary to meet these standards.

Thank you

Can my son claim us as dependent?

Yes. He must have provided over half your support.  Income must be under $4150 for each of you, but social security does not count as gross income, only support. If between you two, you have income of $20,900, he must have contibuted more than this amount.

*2019 amount is $4,200
