Are you saying that it is a non-profit in terms of the IRS or in terms of your state? These are two different things that you have to apply for separately.

Have you gotten legal advice on organizing this organization? It seems like you would want some, because a corporation is not the same as a non-profit, and state non-profit is not the same as a federal non-profit.

In the past, I have suggested that people go to the pro bono clinic at the nearest law school (they'll know what I mean).

In terms of your question, if you are talking about form 990, no, TurboTax does not support this type of return. See 990 at the IRS which you can download yourself.

However, many small non-profits use the 990-N. See About 990-N. Note that if you qualify for this, you might be able to file the 990-N online as a "postcard".

Hi, it is already registered with the IRS as a unincorporated non-profit association as well as with my County. We don't have State taxes in Texas, and I have a EIN number for it from the IRS.

Good!

"it is already registered with the IRS as a unincorporated non-profit association " So it it probably some type pf 501(?) - there are many. For example, 501(c)(3) for a charity is the most well known, but I was the CEO (long ago) of a 501(c)(7) - trade association.

"We don't have State taxes in Texas" We (me too, pardner) don't have individual income taxes in Texas, but we certainly have business taxes. See "Nonprofit Organizations".

"with my County" - I suspect that this is the DBA registration for your name.

Still, it looks like you're on the ball...I ask these questions because I just get concerned about people who create a "non-profit" and try to run it as a Schedule C on their 1040.

It is NOT any type of 501 you have to apply to the IRS for tax exempt status and meet certain requirements which we don't want to do. Every non-profit is NOT tax exempt! Only the ones that meet the IRS requirements, therefore I don't think we can use form 990N which is only for Tax exempt non-profits.
