The only record you have will be the charge you see on your credit card. That should be adequate proof that you made the payment though.
Did you make a payment by credit card directly to the IRS? Or did you do something else? Please clarify.
All interactions with the IRS are painfully slow, especially in comparison to our interactions with Amazon and other online vendors.
Please keep checking and retain any receipt of the payment with your tax records.
My refund from the IRS for 2022 took eleven days to post. Longer time frames for other interactions are not unusual.
As an example, I contacted the IRS in March for a taxpayer about a payment made by a personal check last October. Fortunately, I had a copy of the check (front and back) of the check that had cleared. One telephone call to the right person settled the problem but I never should have had to make a follow-up call to begin with.
I paid by amex within TurboTax. I can see the transaction in my account, I can xee where the IRS for the money, but an IRS agent says they can't see where it was paid. I am truly lost on this one.
