Can I file my federal return and one of two state returns without having to delete state tax returns?

I have a refund coming from Federal and Missouri, but I owe Illinois. I want to file Federal and Missouri and wait until the deadline to file Illinois. The only option I see to do this is if I delete my Illinois return. Is this right?
