CAN I DO MORE THAN ONE PERSON'S RETURN FOR 2017 although I could do mine and kid's return in the past years?

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 20+ years. For last 2 years, I have done my return as well as my kid's return.  For 2017, I did my kid's return first. Then I tried doing mine. I am not able to transfer data from my 2016 return. It only transfers from my kid's 2016 return although I select my 2016 return. Is it an intentional change by Turbo Tax to force people to buy separate software for each member of the family?

No, it is not. Your 2018 .tax file may be corrupted. The TurboTax CD\Download version allows you to prepare and print unlimited federal returns and e-file up to five at no extra cost.
