Can I do 1099 business expenses in Deluxe filing version. Or do I need self employed?

Each time it asks me if I'm ready to put in expenses it redirects me to the self employed version of the software. It wants me to put in more business information, I don't own a business. I'm a hairstylist in a salon.

Yes, You will need TurboTax Self-employed to deduct your business expenses.  If you are a hairstylist in a salon then the IRS considers you as an "independent contractor" or self-employed.  TurboTax Deluxe does not handle business expenses.
