Your out of pocket payment are part of your medical deduction. Payments over 7.5% of AGI go to itemization.

Yes, you can deduct this as a medical expense if you are able to itemize your expenses. Medical expenses are limited to 7.5% of your adjusted gross income for the year.

If you are not sure if you can claim the deduction because of these restrictions, you may report it at;

  1. Federal
  2. Deductions and Credits
  3. Medical
  4. Medical Expenses
  5. As you scroll through these entries, report this in a section titled "Tell us About Any Expenses spent on medical facility fees"

If after reporting your medical expenses, you see no difference in your return, it means you weren't able to claim this deduction for the reasons I listed above.
