Can I deduct for a real estate commission lost while under contract?

It sounds like you had a house under contract and you expected to earn commission, then the contract fell through and you did not make the commission.

If I am correct in my interpretation, the answer is no unfortunately. There is no deduction for not earning this income.

If I misunderstood, please explain in a comment.
