If the hot tub was repaired, then that can be deducted as a maintenance or repair expense.
If the hot tub was replaced, then the hot tub needs to be considered an Asset to be depreciated. As you go through that section of your Schedule E Rental Income and Expenses, you may be given other options to claim the expense (depending on the cost of the hot tub) other than depreciating it over time.
