Can I claim my son for the 6 months he lived with me before leaving for the Marine Corps?

My son graduated in May of 2018 and left for Boot Camp in August. He lived with me until then. He has filed his taxes but can I still claim him for those 6 months

He would have to file a return not claiming himself as a dependent.

You cannot split a dependent in 1/2. so due to being in school at least 5 months full time in 2018, you could claim him, if he did not claim himself, or he files an Amended return and does not claim himself.
