My husband's union reimburses for dependent care up to a certain amount. We received a W2 from the union that shows the amount we received in Box 10, and all other boxes, including Box 1, are blank. Because of this, we filed by mail (ugh!). His regular salary came in a separate W2, from his employer.
I expect this to happen again in the future, and would love to know whether there is a work-around for this. I've seen some posts about putting $1 in Box 1 to get the system to allow it, but concerned about the IRS flagging a mismatch between the W2 and my return.
