My Father is in Assisted Living because of his dementia. He can dress and feed himself, but needs assistance for medications and nursing services due to low blood pressure.  He can no longer drive and must depend on the facility for transportation as well as meals.   Can he deduct his room and board as well as medication assistance on his 2020 Return?

From the IRS.

  • If you, your spouse, or your dependent is in a nursing home primarily for medical care, then the entire nursing home cost (including meals and lodging) is deductible as a medical expense.

Is he paying for the nursing home himself?
