I just want to verify this because I don't recall ever needing to fill in last year's AGI to file before, but this year I am being told I need this. I am using Turbotax deluxe desktop. There is a number pre-filled in the AGI slot for me, but the software is also telling me not to guess, because it could cause my return to be rejected - should I assume the pre-filled amount is correct, and is there any way I can double check it if not?

you can presume the prefilled AGI is correct since you used TurboTax last year, else that number would not be there.
IRS requires AGI to be entered to e-File. This is not new.
