A BUG in foreign earned income exclusion

To qualify for the foreign earned income exclusion, the person must be physically present in a foreign country or countries for at least 330 full days during a 12-month period. But, no matter how many days I entered, it is always giving the "You qualify for the foreign earned income exclusion".  It is not correct. There is no such bug in 2022 version. Please fix the bug ASAP.

A BUG in foreign earned income exclusion

To clarify, how many days did you spend in the foreign country? Also if you feel like you don't qualify, you can indicate in the program that you don't wish to take the exclusion. See screenshot below.

If just by indicating to does not clear this issue, you can delete form 2555 from your list of forms.

If working in Turbo Tax online.

  1. Log into your return.
  2. Go to tax tools on the left side of your return.
  3. Select tools
  4. Select delete a form
  5. Select form 2555 to delete.

If you are using Desktop, go to the forms mode in the program.  Look for form 2555 on the left pane of the screen and select Form 2555. Once the form appears in the right pane of your return, select delete form at the bottom of the page.
