2023 1099 for joint brokerage account under deceased spouses SSN

We have a client who has a joint brokerage account with her deceased husband, reporting under his SSN. He passed in 2022 and the account was never changed into an individual under her name/ssn. We are changing that now, May 2024. She had a consolidated 1099 for 2023 and will have one for beginning months of 2024 reporting under his SSN. How does she file taxes? She lives in Nevada.

If you can’t get a corrected form with her social security number just report it as if it were hers. The IRS rarely objects to too much income being reported and in the unlikely event it is questioned it is easily explained.
