Nothing I have tells me what the ad valorem tax on my vehicles is, I have a personal property tax receipt that says ad valorem but that is for all my personal property. Registration has one fee and one tax listed with zero description on what they are

That is the personal property tax deduction. My registration for my car(s) gives a $$ amount and just says Tax. That is the amount I used which was the full amount of the registration cost. Didn't help me because it only can be used on long form 1040. The standard deduction gave me more $$$ so it was a waste. If you're audited and you go in and have a piece of paper with the $$ amount and you use that number on your taxes, you won't gigged too much if it was wrong. You made a good faith effort to figure it out and had supporting materials.
I take that back it doesnt say tax anywhere it says "Registration Fee" and "Special Fee"
