My son received a 1099-NEC from DoorDash, but the Recipient TIN Field shows "XXXXX2392" which appears to be DoorDash's EIN #, not my son's TIN. Is this normal?

No, it is not normal. They obviously made a mistake on the form. However, if there is your son name and all other information seems to be accurate, you can enter it under your son's SSN. You still need DoorDash EIN: 46-2852392
As a recipient, your son's social security number would be x'd out except for 4 four numbers. 2392 are not his last 4 numbers? The payer's EIN never has x'd out numbers, they all show as a 2 digit - 7 digit number. (example: 12-3456789)
Thank you for your response.
No, the last 4 of his SS# are NOT 2392, but, coincidentally, the last 4 of Door Dash's EIN are 2392.
It' jus frustrating because he can't get anywhere with DoorDash support to get any answers and I certainly don't wany his first tax filing as "single" (non-dependent) to get flagged for an audit. 😉
