1099-nec for a minor

I am 17 and received a 1099-NEC instead of a W-2 for a seasonal job and only made $744 with no other income for the year.  Do I need to file as self employed or file an extension and then an SS-8?  I did not have any say in this and the payer controlled what needed to be done and how and gave me a pay rate.

The fact that you are a minor has nothing to do with how you file a Form 1099-NEC.  You can file it as self-employment income, or you could file the SS-8, but I don't know if it's worth the trouble over the $113 of self-employment tax you will have to pay.  I would just file it and pay the tax.
